Margaret Abe-Koga
Mayor, Mountain View
Margaret Abe-Koga is the Mayor of Mountain View. She is in her third term on the City Council, and previously served as Mayor in 2009, Vice-Mayor in 2008 and 2019, making her the first Asian Pacific American woman to serve in these capacities in Mountain View’s 101 year history.
Margaret serves on regional bodies including the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Silicon Valley Clean Energy, Cities Association of Silicon Valley, and the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Policy Advisory Committee. She has also previously served on the Silicon Valley Regional Interoperability Authority, Santa Clara County Emergency Operational Area Council, and the Santa Clara Local Area Formation Commission (LAFCO). She also served on the VTA Board and as Chair in 2011. Margaret was appointed by then Governor Jerry Brown to serve on the Regional Water Quality Control Board from 2012-2015. Prior to her service on the City Council, Margaret served as a Trustee to the Santa Clara County Board of Education.
